Holiday Program Thursday Dec. 17; 6:30pm SBMS's Alumni Hall
It's true. If your child is announcing they're in the Holiday Program along with Willi Wonka and Charlie, it's true. They are. Each and every child, except the Toddlers, are part of this annual tradition. Why? In the words of Dr. Phil, "You're nuts!" Because it's fun? Because its exciting? Because there's nothing quite like it? Costumes are being created; Props are almost done; Rehearsals progress...we'll be ready. Will you?
Of course, this is the event and the time of the year when one might recall the connection between the Live Auction and the Holiday Performance-Front Row Seats at The Holiday Performance! This is the opportunity created by Bob ("Mr. Baseball") Uecker-sitting in the front row!
Thursday night's performance continues SBMS's tradition of a live presentation created with the children, and provides the opportunity for everyone to experience the spirit of sharing and giving throughout the holiday season. All of the children will be part of rehearsals next week...some are Cotton Candy, Tootsie Rolls, Squirrels, Candy Canes, Chocolate Pixies, Oompa Loompas, and more...be ready for singing and dancing, and redemption in the character of young Charlie Buckett.
Friday, Dec. 18 Half-day schedule: 8:30-11:30am
All children picked up at 11:30am; Bus Service remains the same going to school in the morning; Bus will depart school at 11:30, arriving at Earl Warren by 11:45 and by Noon at Skater's Point. (Have a great and wonderful and safe vacation!)
2009-2010 Annual Giving Campaign
Success continues. We've reached 42% of our goal with 34% participation! Incredible. Thank you to all of you already able to make tax-deductible donations...Partnering in Learning!
Alumni Update
Last week's update was almost accurate. Turns out Gina Castagnola isn't studying in Australia because she returned on Wednesday, and will graduate in May from SDSU. Her sister, Andrea Castagnola, is attending UC Santa Cruz, along with SBMS classmate, Meghan Gehrke; other UC students, at Berkeley, include Laura Zelko and Morgan Petrovich. Not forgetting it's Sarah Kelly's (who graduated as a 6th year) uncle, Brian Kelly, who just took the head football coach's position at Norte Dame (in doing so he'll never again be able to show his face in Cincinnati). Luck of the Irish on ya, Brian!
Alumni Hall Donor Wall
This year's Annual Giving Fund donors will be recognized with a plaque added to the Donor Wall in the multi-purpose room...in fact, the plaques from 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 are all (finally!) being designed and created at Tri-Valley Trophy for installation in early 2010. As in the past, donors are also recognized in the FFF, and importantly the goal of 100% participation will be reiterated over the coming weeks. Partners in learning, we are. Partners in believing.
Sign-Ups of 2010
Sign-Up forms for After School Classes, and Pasta and Pizza, went home today. Only four of the soggy forms remained on the sidewalk at school, so maybe you received yours? Pasta will be served on Monday, January 4, 2010, when we come back to school 'next year.' Be sure to return forms Monday or Tuesday in order to assure your child their place in the After School Classes, and importantly, assure yourself their pizza is ready in 2010 when we get back to school!
