Re-Enrollment forms due TODAY!
2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR “BEGINS”
Regular re-enrollment retains relative reasons rather than randomly reining ridiculous results rightly rigid from rationally reasoned reports.
Today, Friday, Feb. 1, is the annual due date for return of Re-Enrollment forms for every level of SBMS’s programs. All current SBMS families are expected to return completed forms and necessary deposits by this afternoon in order to secure their child’s place in the school.
Of course, it’s from these forms, and the commitment they represent, that becomes the basis for the planning and staffing for the next school year (2013-2014). Any questions you have, any information you need, can be addressed immediately, but if your forms are not returned today, or mailed today, then the school’s planning and preparation for next year is directly impacted. Please, make every effort to provide SBMS the information it needs to prepare and plan for the next school year.
Valentine’s Day Dance (children, only!)
Thursday, Feb. 14 1:00 - 2:00pm
All SBMS children are invited to our Annual Valentine’s Day Dance, featuring treats, trinkets, and trendy dance steps. Most of the children will recognize music and dance opportunities from The Lorax, and there will likely be a group slide opportunity, too! Be mine.
SBMS Annual Giving Campaign = 62% 11% increase!
YouUs
Magnificence magnifies miniscule movement making many marvel at creative concepts concerning community conditions. 100% means every family.
Cindi’s Toddlers (Eucalyptus): 9% (say what?)
Juniper’s (Sycamore): 57% (up 20%)
Margaret’s (Willow): 75% (up 18%)
Jane and Craig’s (Redwood): 60% (up 6%)
Frances’ (Sequoia): 66% (up 6%)
Allwyn’s (Magnolia): 93% (up 18%)
Subtle shifts slowly slip siderially with a few more tax-deductible donations being contributed over the past few hours. Importantly, there are still plentiful practitioners who will find time to plainly participate perfectly at a level of 100%. Understanding, as we do, that 100% participation particularly perks people’s pragmatic plights, by reminding those from outside the 100% the impact and importance of the message carried so clearly and cleverly on the school’s vans: YOU US.
Yakumo Academy (145!) Visitors
Friday, March 1
(NOT) PARENT CONFERENCE DAY!
Take it off the calendar and put: Yakumo Academy visit!
145+ Japanese junior high students will be visiting Santa Barbara during March as part of a cultural outreach program. Yakumo Academy’s teachers and administrators visited SBMS in the fall and were so impressed with the campus and our chicken coops that they’ve decided to bring their students on Friday, March 1. Originally scheduled and on the school calendar as a Parent Conference Day, this unique opportunity is overturning the scheduled Parent Conference Day-Friday, March 1, will be as regular as any other Friday, without any conferences!
Parent Conference Day
Monday, March 11 - No School
ADM will be available for children during their family’s conference. On the school calendar, this Conference Day will allow teachers the opportunity to share observations and provide “progress of development” for each family scheduled for a conference. RSVPs for schedule will be available by Monday, Feb. 11.
Daily Schedules / Early Pick-ups
Remembering…page 17; SBMS Parent Handbook: “In order to preserve the continuity and benefits of your child’s experience in their Montessori classroom environment, all appointments and after school activities must be scheduled after school hours…” Help your child. Help your child’s teacher and your child’s classmates. Help all of us.
SBMS Security & Goleta Union School District Update
Ever closer to actual implementation of the district -wide procedures and policies is still dependent upon installation of new gates and fencing being scheduled, and the next big challenge is implementing the after school ‘lock-down’ of the campus: Keeping the neighbors off the campus until 4:30 is pretty much a face-to-face conversation with yours truly.
Questions, suggestions, or concerns regarding campus security or procedures can be directed to HOS Jim Fitzpatrick, cell: 896-6597; office: 685-7600, or email, jim@sbmontessori.com
