Open House (Bring a friend! Get a balloon. Make a mask.)

Monday, March 15 3:30 – 5:30pm

Last week’s Open House was successful, although somewhat wet! Several families rowed and sailed into the classrooms for a temporary respite from the tempest, so this school day Open House opportunity is intended for those not able to attend the rainy Open House.

Next Tour:

Tuesday, March 23, 9am

RSVP with Trudy @ 685-7600

Send a friend. Ambassadors.

Trevor Eissler

March 11 6:30pm @ SBMS

$25 or $10 Admission

SBMS has six books remaining. You can buy Eissler’s book online for $25.00, at Amazon for $20.00, or at SBMS for $10.00…the book is your admission to his presentation, or you can buy your ticket at the door for $25.00 and end up with no book at all! It’s your decision, please RSVP.

Arbor Week & Goleta Beautiful

Next week’s agenda includes Trevor Eissler, more conferences, the Party Book Parties deadline, AND the planting of more than 50 trees throughout the campus. Coordinated by the Goleta Beautiful Campaign, volunteers will arrive to plant Coast Live Oaks, Smooth Barked Apple, Redbud, Walnut, Big Leaf Maple, American Persimmon, Black Sallee, and Fern Pine trees.

Those interested in dedicating a particular tree to an individual or group, please contact SBMS’s HOS.

Party Book Parties

Friday, March 12

Visit SBMS's Auction Website!

Rock the Casbah is the live event at Bacara. It’s the party we all attend in celebration of SBMS. Right? Champagne. Cocktails. Great food. Live Auction. 50-50. Dancing until the hotel announces the cows have left the building.

The SBMS PARTY BOOK is partly part of that party. Right? There are parties in the PARTY BOOK that are partly your responsibility; part of everyone’s part is to party at parties; another part of everyone’s part is to host parties to enable partying; which, in part, helps future parties, and party-ers, by providing the opportunity for better parties into our partying futures. That has to be partly right, doesn’t it? Well, in a bipartisan way, of course.

The question is, What party have you finally decided to add to the mix? Friday next is the deadline for your party info. Emails to Elodie or Sancha, or write-ups can be dropped off with Trudy, too.

Rock the Casbah with Jeff Bridges!!!

Academy Award nominee (he’s anointed as the winner by Rolling Stone) Jeff Bridges has provided an autographed limited edition book of his production photographs during the filming of Crazy Heart. He also has provided an autographed Crazy Heart poster…who knows, maybe HOS will consider parting with his autographed Lebowski Fest poster? Wait…What? That’s not happening. The Dude imparts.

Rock the Casbah with Ashton Belding!!!

Wait…What?!? Ashton Belding is SBMS’s newest, and joins the Toddler community on March 15. His parents, Elizabeth and Mark, will be wandering around in the maze known as SBMS; be sure and introduce yourself before they get partly lost. If The Dude can impart then you can too, partly, right?

Parent Teacher Conference Days NO SCHOOL

Friday, March 12

Conference schedules have been coordinated by the teachers, please adhere to their schedules and RSVP with the classroom teachers for your Conference; contact your child’s teacher to confirm your Conference time.

ERKDINDER to Italy

March 14 – March 27

The junior high’s year - long study of Italy, Italian, ancient Rome, Western Civilization, and why standard gauge railroad measurements are what they are, is capped off with two weeks travel from Rome to Florence (Siena, Pisa, Lucca), and then on to Venice. The group’s preparations, in addition to preparing for the United Nations, have been exhaustive. If you weren’t able to attend Journey & Discovery, or if you’ve not yet visited their classroom, drop by…their collective research has reached a crescendo that will play itself out live as they traipse through the Forum, the Colosseo, the Palantine…Lucca’s amphitheatre is where the “Stones Speak,” and Siena’s campo, where the Palio is held…Piazza San Marco…Wait…What?!?

Thank you, your part has been very helpful…Kid Kafe; Cupcake and Cookie sales; Yearbook sales; part of the Pizza sales…all of these parts come together to help offset part of the cost of the trip. Thanks for doing your part!

Spring Vacation Camp

March 29 – April 2

April 5 – April

Primary level Vacation Camp is a “GO,” whereas Toddler Vacation Camp is still a possibility with minimums still to be met. Activities will include watering the new baby trees; drawing and illustrating the new baby trees; digging and weeding around the new baby trees; giving names to the new baby trees? Wait…What?!?

House for Rent in NoGo

There’s a house for rent in the neighborhood, anyone want to walk to school with the Macquets and the Evers? Word is that “NoGo” is the place to be, and that SB-area families are now clamoring to be in this neck of the woods. Word.
